Nitrogen-15
Nitrogen is an important life element that affects the metabolism of organisms and is widely distributed in nature. There are two natural isotopes of nitrogen, nitrogen-14 (14N) and nitrogen-15 (15N). Nitrogen-14 is the most common nitrogen isotope (non-radioactive) and makes up 99% of natural nitrogen. Nitrogen-15 is a rare nitrogen stable isotope (non-radioactive). In addition, because all radioisotopes of nitrogen have short half-lives, the longest-lived nitrogen-13 has a half-life of only a few minutes.
