Description	4,6-Dioxoheptanoic acid-3,4,5,6,7-[13C5] is intended for use as an internal standard for succinylacetone. Succinylacetone is an inhibitor of δ-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase and an abnormal metabolite of tyrosine that accumulates in hereditary tyrosinemia type I, a disorder characterized by a deficiency in fumarylacetoacetate hydrolase (FAH), the final enzyme in tyrosine catabolism.
