Description 5-Aminolevulinic acid-[13C5,15N] hydrochloride is intended for use as an internal standard for 5-Aminolevulinic acid hydrochloride. 5-Aminolevulinic acid hydrochloride is an intermediate in heme biosynthesis in the body and the universal precursor of tetrapyrroles. The conversion of 5-Aminolevulinic acid to protoporphyrins is used in photodynamic therapy for a range of dermatological conditions, cancers, and other disease.
